HYDRA

There is some confusion among scientific circles surrounding the Mariana Trench hydra. It is unknown whether it sleeps, or if sleeping is the only thing it does: its vital signs have remained unchanged over the years. It lacks eyes and limbs: it is a wholly loose and relaxed sensitive mucous membrane. Despite the risk of dismemberment, it does not shy away from human contact or petting, as long as it is delicate and almost imperceptible. Its digestive system is rudimentary and it feeds on trivial conversations, unimportant phrases and words lost to the ocean. Its melancholic nature clearly discounts it as a pet, but in the form of an earring it is said to offer the Happiest Experience on Earth!
