GARE DU NORD

Arriving in Paris at the Gare du Nord is all about making a grand entrance: opened in 1865 and based on the classic layout of Roman baths, this is France’s main station and one of the largest in the whole world, with about one hundred and ninety million passengers per year. What’s more, it joins Paris to London via the Eurotunnel under the English Channel. Its stunning façade, adorned with nine statues depicting the cities it originally connected, also earned it the classification of historical monument. Any more reasons to hang them from your ears?
