24 BAYADÈRE

Not only one or two, but 24 bayadères take part of this choreography, to which Petipa got inspired from the Dore’s illustrations from Dante’s Paradise. They act as a single body, where each one is a member that descends perfectly timed from a slipway to the stage. They move as a whole, dance and breath as if they were just one. Trimmed on a blue background, 24 spectrum, 24 shadows dressed in tutus and white veils that move forward building delicate patrons that flutter and arch each other as these Maxi earrings. (Act II, scene I)
