THE BOW

We already have an arrow in the collection: now we just have to wield this bow, shaped like a Midi earring. This one specifically was found 64,000 years ago in the Sibudu Cave, and is made out of wood and bone. Nowadays this invention may not seem that impressive, but it was a milestone in human evolution, since it involved planning, collecting different materials, using a handful of innovative social skills and a high capacity to process information. So, you see, who would have thought that hanging a bow from our ears would end up representing such a large leap forward in our species’ development…
