VINE LEAVES

Caravaggio depicts Bacchus with his characteristic crown of vines to match the fruit still life in the foreground. Large leaves cover his hair and adorn it to honour his status as a deity. A distinctive decorative element that we recreate in the form of an earring with a subtle play of light and shadow through the combination of two superimposed leaves in a swinging position; a golden one turning to one side over which another translucent green one turns to the other, allowing us to reveal its hidden forms.
