LAS MENINAS’ BOWS

The bows that embellish the Infanta Margarita are much more than an ornament: they’re signs of an order reflected in each fold, in each flash of light on the fabric. They shine on the brown tones like small constellations that point to the centre of the scene, where childhood and power are blurred. In this particular version, we have reinterpreted the accessory with a new material that gives it volume and presence, as if the texture itself were breathing the golden air of the seventeenth century. It’s not nostalgia, but a tribute: a contemporary way of capturing the solemn and luminous stillness of that moment when light caresses gold and time stands still.
