Black Coco may have led the way, but his impressive family’s surprises did not stop there. Just look to Marine Coco, the most rebellious and adventurous of the tale: a rotund body equipped with four hydrodynamic legs like his brothers, yes. But with an oval-shaped, flat blade similar to a surfboard which led it to sail – in the middle of the eighteenth century and with hair blowing in the wind – the seven seas. It was only in his old age that he compiled this amazing odyssey over several volumes. There were creatures unknown to humans, such as the tiny hydra of Thessaly or the timid phoenix of Crimea; or the Utopian kappas and the Korean elastic-neck. Not to mention the Liquid Golem of Croatia or the Glubbdubdrib seahorse!
