SAPPHO

Inspired by the pink-washed set design that Marta Pazos created at the Classical Theatre Festival in Mérida, with its towers, fabrics and columns bathed in the same colour, this piece covers the full range of pinks: from the blush of a young lover’s cheek to the magenta that sets temples ablaze. And, in the middle, a sculpted peony with its petals opened like bridal choruses guarding the echo of the wedding poem that Sappho, the great poet from Lesbos, dedicated to lovers on her longest night. A dialogue between past and present. A burst of colour to celebrate the desire that never goes away. An immortal toast to love.
