THE SEED

Seeds are a vehicle for life. Natural creations that travel through time and space and ensure our survival as a species. Their diversity is astonishing: from the Seychelles nut, almost one metre in size, to the orchid, measuring just 0.1 mm. Towering trees and miniscule grasses alike grow from them. And on them, too, our civilisation. What would have become of us without wheat, corn or oats? Or rice, which feeds half the inhabitants of the Earth? Not to mention the pleasures they provide us, such as our morning coffee or the spices that literally spice up our recipes. Or their usefulness as a raw material. Or their extraordinary beauty. How could we not dedicate a collection to them?
