THE FAKIR

The Fakir Magdayeva, appears on the scene at the most opportune moment, just as Nikiya and Solor promised them happy under the moonlight, unaware of the envious gaze of the Great Brahman. Run, flee! He warns them. An enraged Brahman curses the lovers before the Holy Flame and claims to the Gods, their end. (Act I, Scene I)
