For the aboriginal people of the Marianas archipelago, the moon had a crucial importance, as it echoed news from the depths and relayed them to the surface. The first chronicles were received with enthusiasm: they spoke of a surprising biodiversity, of amazing creatures like the sea nut, the sponge-tree, the cusk-eels or the giant-eared octopus. Then came the story of the alien jellyfish and the potato fish, which surprised everyone. Then, the trillo, the hybrid animal with the head of a rooster and the voice of a cricket, which marked a turning point.
