Raceme

Summer has given way to autumn. A large fruit bowl in the foreground reflects the fullness of a beauty that is beginning to fade. A pomegranate has burst and spilled its seeds. The berries show their purple flesh. The vine leaves try to grasp the light while a few bunches of grapes slip into the darkness. But the glass of wine that the young god Bacchus holds so carefully over the tired fruit contains the promise of eternal life. A tribute to the vine in the form of an earring with this bunch of burgundy grapes into which another golden one sneaks in, giving a gleam of much-needed hope to a very special piece.
