Here it is, one of the legendary knights of King Arthur's Round Table turned into an earring. Though it was previously a series of 144 works composed by Hilma on the Swedish island of Munsö, in which she explores spiritual knowledge.

Based on squares alone, delicately superimposed but without the spirals or symbols that dominate the rest of her work, this accessory constitutes, in our view, the most unsettling expression of the project, as if, with this central figure floating alongside smaller ones in the corners, the artist were attempting to encompass the vastness of the Universe in the simplest way possible.

And that is exactly what we intend (oh, bold ones!), picking up that sequence of layers rising from the paper—three independent squares of red, blue, and gold—that stack, move, and play with simple geometries until they find their own meaning.

You will find it in the Parsifal Series, No. 117 and No. 118, Group III, 1916.
