“Be careful with your drawings,” the spirit of Ghanātman—condensed soul in Sanskrit—warns Hilma, “they are submerged images waiting for your eyes and ears to experience messages.” And so, little by little, she begins to capture the multiple forms of invisible realities: pyramids of light, otherworldly beings, halos, prisms, angels, ghostly spheres. A luminous geometry that reveals itself only to those whose body channels are open, pierced by the sublime tonality of light.

In this color combination, we have returned the circle to its original white and turned the darkness into silver. For the artist, white is the color of the spirit, of the love that no longer belongs to the body, which we translated into matte mother-of-pearl: a light born from a shell at the bottom of the sea with a radiance of its own. Beside it, the mirror silver reflects, like the moon, the light it receives. The contrast fades: there is no longer day or night or shadow to separate, but rather two whites that are barely distinguishable and that, together, resemble those bright lights that visited Hilma in a trance.

You will find it in Mahatmas, Series II, 1920.
