“Be careful with your drawings,” the spirit of Ghanātman—condensed soul in Sanskrit—warns Hilma, “they are submerged images waiting for your eyes and ears to be able to experience messages.” And, so, little by little, she begins to grasp the multiple forms of invisible realities: pyramids of light, otherworldly beings, halos, prisms, angels, ghostly spheres. A luminous geometry that only reveals itself to those who have the body’s channels open, traversed by the sublime tonality of light.

An example is this circle divided into two halves, one light and one dark. Here, the darkness has turned electric blue, and the lightness, silver. The artist lived through the years of the discovery of X-rays and radio waves, invisible forces that validated what she had already intuited. This blue is that of a spark, that of the energy that cannot be seen but is felt. And the two mirrored, so that the light leaps from one half to the other like a current. Is this how messages are transmitted?

You will find it in Mahatmas, Series II, 1920.
