Milk thistle

The legends about plant are almost as extensive as its convoluted stem. For example: it is said that the white spots on their leaves owe their origin to the Virgin Mary, who shed some drops of milk on a thistle when she was nursing the baby Jesus. Whether you believe in this or not, the truth is that their benefits are more than proven: from combating alterations of the nervous system, improving cirrhosis and reducing inflammation of the liver, to neutralising the venom of some fungi. Like the legend says, it works like a charm!
